About LawyerBlogger

LawyerBlogger answers everyday legal questions in plain language: the "Is it illegal to…?" and "Can you go to jail for…?" questions people actually search for.

We cover the law in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia, and we say clearly when the answer depends on where you live.

Who we are

LawyerBlogger is written by the LawyerBlogger Team, a small independent team based in Canada. We started the site in 2021 because we found that most answers to common legal questions online were either buried in legal jargon or wrong.

We are not lawyers, and we don't pretend to be. Our job is to research the law carefully, explain it clearly, and show you exactly where each answer comes from, so you can check it yourself.

Important

LawyerBlogger provides general legal information for educational purposes. It is not legal advice, and reading it does not create a lawyer-client relationship. Laws change and every situation is different. If you have a legal problem, talk to a lawyer licensed where you live. Many offer free or low-cost first consultations, and legal aid clinics can help if you can't afford one.
